Forward & Reverse Resolution
This guide will explain what Forward Resolution and Reverse Resolution are, and how you can set up your .box domains with these features.
What is Forward Resolution?
Forward resolution is the process of going from name to address. As well as to load the records associated to a name. These records include but are not limited to text records such as bios, X handle, email, Discord ID, and more. See Set ENS Records. Multiple names can point to a single address.
How do I set Forward Resolution with .box domains?
Currently, all .box domains are automatically set to forward to the wallet that holds the domain NFT. But, you can set an alternative Forward Resolution address manually if you so choose:
Go to My Domains -> Select a domain -> Navigate to the ENS tab.
Replace the wallet address in the Forward Resolution Address field.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Complete the Set ENS records transaction.
Note: This transaction is executed on the Ethereum Mainnet network, where gas fees can reach $10+ so, make sure your wallet has enough Ethereum to settle that transaction.
What is Reverse Resolution?
Conversely, reverse resolution is the process of mapping an Ethereum wallet address back to a human-readable domain name.
How do I set Reverse Resolution with .box domains?
Reverse resolution is the same thing as setting your Primary ENS Name. Learn how here:Set Primary ENS Name.
