Manage WHOIS contacts
When you enable DNS, the registry keeps a WHOIS record of four contacts for your name. You can update those contacts later from the Admin tab. This is where you change who is listed after activation, or keep the details current.
Where to find it
Open the name and go to the Admin tab, then the Contact Information section. This section exists only when DNS is active on the name. If DNS is off, the Admin tab shows only billing, with a prompt to enable DNS first. To turn DNS on in the first place, see Enable DNS on your name.
The four roles
Every DNS-enabled name has four contact roles, shown in this order:
Registrant: the person or organization that legally owns the DNS registration.
Admin: the primary point of contact for administrative matters.
Technical: the contact for technical questions (nameservers, DNS records, etc.).
Billing: the contact for billing and renewal matters.
When a role uses the same contact as the registrant, it shows as Same as Registrant rather than repeating the details.
Change a contact
Each role has a Change contact button (or Add Contact if it has none). That opens a picker of your saved contacts, where you can select a different one or choose Add New Contact to create one. Creating or editing a contact opens a form with these fields:
First name
Last name
Organization (optional)
Email
Phone
Country
Street address
City
State or province
ZIP or postal code
Every field except organization is required. my.box checks each field as you go (for example, US and Canada numbers must be exactly 10 digits) and keeps the save action disabled until the form is valid.
One contact can be reused across roles and across names. Because contacts are shared, editing a contact's details updates it everywhere that contact is used, not just on this name.
Save your changes
When your roles are set, choose Save Changes (or Reset to undo). Saving sends the updated contacts to the domain registry and then records them, so the registry and your account stay in step. You will see a confirmation once the contact information is updated.
