Your <code>.box</code> name lives in an Ethereum wallet, so connecting a wallet is the first thing you do on my.box. Connecting is also how you sign in: there is no separate username or password, your wallet is your identity. You need a connected wallet to register a name, and to manage any name you already own.

An Ethereum wallet. That can be a browser-extension wallet on your computer, or a wallet app on your phone that you connect by scanning a QR code. If you do not have one yet, set one up first, then come back.

Choose Connect wallet in the top right. (On a narrow screen the button reads Connect.)

Pick your wallet from the list, or scan the QR code with a mobile wallet.

Approve the connection request in your wallet.

Sign the sign-in message your wallet shows you. This proves you own the wallet. It is a signature, not a transaction, so it costs nothing and moves no funds. If you decline it, my.box disconnects the wallet and you stay signed out.

4. Sign the sign-in message your wallet shows you. This proves you own the wallet. It is a signature, not a transaction, so it costs nothing and moves no funds. If you decline it, my.box disconnects the wallet and you stay signed out.

The first time a wallet signs in, you also confirm an email address: enter your email, then enter the verification code sent to it. This keeps a way to reach you about your names. After that, connecting the same wallet signs you straight in.

The Connect wallet button is replaced by your account menu. It shows your name (your primary ENS name if you have one, otherwise a shortened version of your wallet address) and a colored initial. You can copy your full address from the menu, and reach:

The colored initial is a placeholder, not your ENS avatar. You set a real avatar from your name's Identity settings, covered in <a href="https://docs.my.box/en/articles/16531242">Set your ENS profile</a>.

Choosing Log out disconnects your wallet and signs you out. To use a different wallet, log out and then connect the other one. my.box works with Ethereum mainnet, so make sure your wallet is on that network if it asks.
